Two-time Olympian, Olympic finalist and three-time medalist at the European Championships in athletic sprint running. Head of the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Mission. A graduate of The University of Physical Education named after Bronislaw Czech in Cracow with a doctoral degree in physical culture.

He also graduated from Apsley Business School in London with an Executive Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree. He has more than 15 years of experience in management and working in associations and public and government institutions. He initiated, co-organized and organized international sports events.

He served two terms on the board of KS AZS AWF Kraków. During the same period, he created and coordinated the “Athletics for Everyone” sports dissemination program in Małopolska. For more than three years he headed the Department of Competitive Sports at the Ministry of Sport and Tourism. His responsibilities included overseeing the Polish Sports Associations, controlling the rationality and reliability in the disposition of public funds and building the Polish Sports Strategy for the coming years.

Since 2020, he has served as director of the International Cooperation and Sports Projects Department at the Polish Olympic Committee.

Michal Langer participated in the IE2023 project from the very beginning. He managed a team of experts on behalf of the Marshal’s Office of the Malopolska Region and the City of Krakow. He was responsible for preparing and defining the company’s first activities as the Organizing Committee.

Currently, as Vice President and General Manager, he is responsible for the implementation of organizational and operational assumptions and operational assumptions in individual projects.

Michal Langer gained competence by taking part in the organization of the largest sports events
in Poland, during UEFA EURO 2012 he was Manager of Tournament Transport and Airport Operations. He was the originator of the application, which is still used by UEFA and FIFA for transport planning. He coordinated the Europa League Finals. Co-originator of the project to acquire the 2020 European Amp Football Championship. During the organization of UEFA EURO U21 Poland 2017, he acted as Project Manager of Host Cities and Off-Field Operations. As an Expert for Transport and Airport Operations within the Kraków 2022 Competition Committee, he prepared the application for the Kraków 2022 Winter Olympic Games. He worked on the organization of the Men’s Club Volleyball World Championships, the 2018 World Junior Short Track Championships and the 2018 Polish Championships in the same discipline.

Michal Langer is a graduate of the University of Łódź. Before he started working in the world of sports, he was involved in the courier and logistics industry. For many years he was closely associated with the Polish Football Association. He also worked with the Polish Volleyball Association, the Polish Speed Skating Association, and from 2019 to 2021 served as secretary general of the Polish Badminton Association.

For several years he has remained a close associate of Krakow Mayor Jacek Majchrowski. From 2015 to 2017 in the rank of Advisor, and from 2017 to the present as the Mayor’s Plenipotentiary for the Development of Physical Culture. Since 2020, head of the joint City and Marshal’s Office Task Force for the 2023 European Games. He was also the Presidential Plenipotentiary for the organization of the U21 European Football Championships. In 2021, he was the organizational head of the European Championships tournament in AMP soccer and co-organizer of the European Championships Division II in blind soccer. Currently, he is the coordinator of the organization of the final tournament of the Champions League in AMP soccer and the coordinator of Krakow’s efforts for the 2025 European Women’s Football Championship.

In the past, he has worked in the media world – at Gazeta Krakowska, Telewizja Krakow and Radio Krakow. In 2013, he was associated with Wisla Krakow, in the rank of vice-president of the board of directors. He was a senior lecturer at The University of Physical Education for eight years. He is a graduate of the Jagiellonian University.

Lawyer, graduate of the Jagiellonian University. He holds an MBA and has completed numerous trainings and courses, including in administration and management.

He has extensive experience in many fields, including local government administration, running his own business, managing commercial companies, leading third sector organizations or academic work.

After graduation, he served his notary’s apprenticeship, created local government, including as chairman of the City Council, or directing the work of the entire administration in the role of City Secretary. For more than a dozen years he successfully ran a business, mainly in real estate. In the last period, he managed as President and Vice President of the Board of Directors of a municipal company, then as Plenipotentiary of the Board of Directors of a joint-stock company.
