Basketball 3×3. Bronze medals for Spain and Poland
The Spanish and Polish national teams won bronze medals of the European Games Krakow – Małopolska 2023 in 3×3 basketball. The Spanish women defeated the Romanians 21:15 and the Poles defeated the Germans 21:18.
The white and red team took a revenge for the defeat in the group stage and this time won 21:18. For a few minutes only Adrian Bogucki (10) and Przemysław Zamojski (8) scored in the Polish team. The Poles were leading by 12:7, but a moment of negligence was enough and it was only 14:13. There was everything in this game. Nerves, emotions, a lot of mistakes on both sides, and finally a happy end for Piotr Renkiel’s players. After Przemysław Zamojski’s throw it was 20:18 and the hosts still had a personal throw.
Szymon Rduch asked the audience for silence, and moments after the ball fell into the basket after Zamojski’s throw, the Cracovia Arena shook in its foundations, the audience went wild as the Poles won the bronze medal of the European Games!
The women’s bronze medal game also ended before 12 minutes had elapsed. The Spanish women left no illusions to the Romanian women, and the victory – also with a free throw – was made by Helena Oma.
