We know the finalists of the boxing tournament

The semifinal fights of the European Games boxing tournament are behind us. We paid special attention to the women’s 75 kilograms and the men’s 51 kg, 92 kg and +92 kg, as the winners in these weights secured promotion to the Olympic Games in Paris.

Women 54 kg:
Charley-Sian Taylor Davison (GBR) vs Stanimira Petrova (BUL) PKT 0-5 [28:29, 27:30, 27:30, 27:30, 27:30].
The first round was very even, but four judges pointed to the Bulgarian representative. In the next two rounds Petrova’s advantage was no longer disputable.

Lenuta Lacramioara Perijoc (ROU) vs Hatice Akbas (TUR) PKT 3-2 [29:28, 29:28, 28:29, 28:29, 30:27].
The smaller Romanian representative tried to exert pressure from the beginning. The taller opponent boxed on the counter and won the first round, but in the second round Perijoc made up for her losses. The Romanian finished better and won 3:2.

Women 60 kg:
Kellie Harrington (IRL) vs Estelle Mosselly (FRA) PKT 5-0 [29:28, 29:28, 30:27, 30:27, 29:28].
In the clash between the two Olympic champions, the Irish representative prevailed from the beginning. She changed her position from orthodox to southpaw, which surprised her opponent. After two rounds, one of the judges had it a draw, with the rest pointing to Harrington. She boxed safely in the last three minutes and won on all judges’ scorecards.

Gizem Ozer (TUR) vs Natalia Shadrina (SRB) PKT 1-4 [27:30, 27:30, 28:29, 29:28, 27:30].
An even, fierce battle. The judges had a difficult task, but by a ratio of 4:1 they pointed to the Serbian representative.

Women 66 kg:
Anna Luca Hamori (HUN) vs Oshin Derieuw (BEL) PKT 0-5 [27:30, 27:30, 27:30, 28:29, 27:30].
The strong and fast Belgian dominated the fight from the beginning. Her punches were more significant, she operated well with her jab, adding several right hooks. Hamori finished well, but was unable to change the tide of the fight.

Rosie Joy Eccles (GBR) vs Busenaz Surmeneli (TUR) PKT 1-4 [28:29, 28:29, 30:27, 28:29, 28:29].
The best fight in the ladies’ competition so far. Eccles started the fight brilliantly with a left-right combination. She was faster and more active. Surmeneli – a gold medallist at the World Championships and the Olympic Games – put all her eggs in one basket in the second round and made up for losses. The last three minutes, like the whole fight, fierce and very exciting. After the final gong, the judges pointed to the favourite, but it was Surmeneli’s toughest fight of the tournament.

Men 51 kg:
Kiaran Macdonald (GBR) vs Billal Bennama (FRA) PKT 0-5 [27:30, 28:29, 27:30, 28:29, 27:30].
The Briton has been the revelation of the tournament so far. Today, however, Bennama was faster, more accurate and deservedly won on all judges’ cards.

Samet Gumus (TUR) vs Federico Serra (ITA) PKT 4-1 [29:28, 29:28, 28:29, 29:29, 29:28].
Gumus entered the duel better. He won the first round, but at the end of the second Serra hit him with a strong right hook and everything was still an open matter. In the last round, the Turkish representative proved his superiority and won on the judges’ cards 4:1.

Men 63,5 kg:
Dean Clancy (IRL) vs Sofiane Oumiha (FRA) PKT 0-5 [27:30, 27:30, 27:30, 27:30, 27:30].
The Frenchman’s excellent boxing throughout the whole tournament. Fourth fight and fourth confident victory. He is fast, puts his punches together in long combinations and so far he has met no competition in Nowy Targ.

Lasha Guruli (GEO) vs Richard Kovacs (HUN) PKT 5-0 [29:28, 30:27, 30:27, 29:28, 29:28].
The Georgian has been looking very good throughout the tournament, and if anyone is to beat Oumiha in the final, it’s probably only him.

Men 80 kg:
Salvatore Cavallaro (ITA) vs Oleksandr Khyzhniak (UKR) PKT 0-5 [25:30, 26:30, 26:30, 26:30, 26:30, 26:30].
After a very difficult fight in the quarterfinals, today Khyzhniak gave no chance to his Italian opponent. From the first to the last second he attacked and did not take a step back. The Italian was counted out in the first round.

Gabrijel Veocic (CRO) vs Murad Allahverdiyev (AZE) PKT 5-0 [30:27, 29:28, 30:27, 30:27, 30:27].
Two big and strong players. Good fight, but slightly better in each round was the Croatian.

Men 92 kg:
Jack Marley (IRL) vs Enmanuel Reyes (ESP) PKT 4-1 [29:28, 29:28, 28:29, 29:28, 30:27].
The Spaniard was one of the favourites in the heavyweight division, but he was a bit out of form in Nowy Targ. He won the first round in the eyes of four judges, but then the Irish representative came to the fore, won and secured his Olympic qualification.

Mateusz Bereznicki (POL) vs Aziz Abbes Mouhiidine (ITA) PKT 0-5 [25:30, 27:30, 27:30, 27:30, 27:30].
Mouhiidine has not given anyone a chance in the ring in Nowy Targ so far. The Pole was also without a chance, although he was ambitiously attacking until the last second.

Women 50 kg:
Buse Naz Cakiroglu (TUR) vs Giordana Sorrentino (ITA) PKT 5-0 [30:27, 30:27, 30:27, 30:27, 30:27, 30:27].
One actress show – that actress was the Turkish representative.

Laura Fuertes (ESP) vs Wassila Lkhadiri (FRA) PKT 0-3 [28:28, 27:29, 27:29, 28:28, 27:29].
Ambition cannot be denied, but there was also a lot of chaos in the ring. The Spanish woman received a warning, but even without it she would have lost on points.

Women 57 kg:
Svetlana Staneva (BUL) vs Irma Testa (ITA) PKT 4-1 [29:28, 30:27, 30:27, 28:29, 30:27].
Tactical straight punch fight. Good boxing on both sides, but the Bulgarian was slightly better.

Michaela Walsh (IRL) vs Amina Zidani (FRA) PKT 1-4 [28:29, 27:30, 27:30, 27:30, 29:28].
A fight worthy of the semifinals of the European Games. Interesting exchanges in the semi-distance, high pace and the victory of the representative of France by the unanimous verdict of the judges.

Women 75 kg:
Davina-Myrha Michel (FRA) vs Irina Schoenberger (GER) PKT 5-0 [30:27, 30:27, 30:27, 30:27, 29:28].
The French representative was much taller and was able to take advantage of her physical conditions. And even when her rival managed to go to half-distance, Michel did just as well in close combat.

Elzbieta Wojcik (POL) vs Aoife O’Rourke (IRL) PKT 2-3 [28:29, 28:29, 29:28, 27:30, 30:27].
A very good fight. From the first bell sharp exchanges at half distance. The first round was won by the Pole, but at the end of the second round her strength left her and before the last clash there was a tie. The fighters thrilled the audience in the last three minutes. In the end, O’Rourke won by a ratio of 3:2.

Men 57 kg:
Javier Ibanez (BUL) vs Nebil Mahmud Ibrahim (SWE) PKT 4-1 [27:30, 29:28, 30:27, 30:27, 30:27].
High tempo and boxing at the highest level. There is a bright future ahead for the young representative of Sweden, but for the time being the Cuban with a Bulgarian passport is even better.

Vasile Usturoi (BEL) vs Jose Quiles (ESP) PKT 0-5 [27:30, 27:30, 27:30, 27:30, 27:30, 27:30].
Usturoi attacked from the beginning, but it was to the advantage of the Spanish representative. Quiles boxing from the counter won all rounds on the scorecards of the entire judging panel.

Men 71 kg:
Makan Traore (FRA) vs Vakhid Abbasov (SRB) PKT 0-5 [28:29, 28:29, 27:30, 28:29, 28:29]
After the ring war two days ago, today the French representative was probably severely weakened. Although he won the first round in the opinion of four judges, he gave up the initiative after that and deservedly lost.

Nikolai Terteryan (DEN) vs Tugrulhan Erdemir (TUR) WO
The Turkish representative did not come out for the bout due to injury.

Men +92 kg:
Mahammad Abdullayev (AZE) vs Nelvie Tiafack (GER) PKT 4-1 [29:28, 29:28, 29:28, 28:29, 30:27].
A gruelling fight. Abdullayev was whipping with a left hook to the body, in turn Tiafack with a right hook to the head. After two rounds the score was tied. In the end, the Azerbaijani representative kept more strength, was countering strongly with his left hand and all the judges awarded the clash in his favour. With this, he won and secured his participation in the Olympic Games in Paris.

Yordan Hernandez (BUL) vs Delicious Orie (GBR) PKT 0-5 [26:29, 26:29, 26:29, 25:29, 26:29].
The Briton’s best performance at this tournament so far. He was stopping his opponent with a long left straight, and when the opportunity arose, he extended his combinations to several punches. All the judges scored the bout in his favour, and in the last seconds the rival was counted out after a strong right cross.
