Hundreds of thousands of fans will follow the European Games Krakow – Malopolska 2023, but only some will have the opportunity to do so live. For others, however, fan zones are being prepared in Malopolska’s towns and cities, among others.

Special zones are to be created in 12 municipalities, including Czarny Dunajec, Trzebinia, Gorlice and Miechów.

– At the same time, we will integrate, have fun and encourage fair-play competition among our residents and visitors,” stressed Dariusz Marczewski, mayor of Miechow, in material prepared by TVP Kraków.

Zones are to be created where the European Games competition will not take place. However, the organizers will do everything to ensure that fans staying in the zones will not be bored. They will be able to follow the competition on the screens, but also compete themselves. On the other hand, for those looking for relaxation there will be deckchairs, a catering zone and a children’s zone.

– These will be places where we will all come together in the framework of sports,” – noted Łukasz Smółka, deputy marshal of the Małopolska Region.

The 3rd European Games will begin on June 21 and will last until July 2. Athletes will compete for medals in 29 sports disciplines.

– We just order the weather to be good. So that we can spend this time together. Not at home, in 2-3 people, but in a place where there will be more of these people,” – noted Stanislaw Banach, head of the Podegrodzie municipality, which is planning a fan zone at the “Municipal Bazaar.

The fan zones will be subsidized from the budget of the Malopolska Region.
