Ready? Go! Beach Handball tournament begins on Tuesday

Although the official inauguration of the 3rd European Games Kraków-Małopolska 2023 will take place on Wednesday, June 21, almost 200 athletes from 10 countries will start the beach handball competition on Tuesday.

The competition will take place in the newly built Beach Arena facilities in the Beach Sports Center in Tarnow. The matches will be played there on two courts – the main one, with stands for over 2,000 fans, and a smaller one.

16 teams from 10 countries will compete for medals – eight each in the women’s and men’s events. In total, we will see nearly 200 athletes on the sand.

For both women and men, teams were drawn into two groups of four. In the first phase of the tournament, each team will play three matches. The quarterfinals will follow, followed by the semifinals and medal matches.

A total of 16 matches will be played on Tuesday, June 20. The first matches are scheduled for 10h00. The medalists will be known on Thursday evening.
