Second day of women’s 3×3 basketball
Today is the second day of the women’s competition, but experts have no doubts. A sensation would be the absence of a gold medal for France, which easily defeated Latvia and Hungary yesterday.
Bartlomiej Koziatek, coach of the Polish 3×3 team, is quick to chalk out the basic tasks before his team. “Our goal is to get as many points for the FIBA ranking as possible, needed for the two qualifying tournaments before the IO in Paris. Everything is subordinated to this, even the European Games in Krakow. We will face a very difficult challenge on Thursday, because Ukraine and Lithuania are strong, powerful teams that play to the end,” he said. On Thursday, the Polish women will play two matches, the second at 20:45 against Lithuania (TVP Sport). The last opponent will be Estonia.
In the men’s competition today we will see the Spaniards and the Latvians for the first time. Especially the latter – Olympic champions in Tokyo – are put as favorites to win the IE. 3×3 basketball in Latvia stands at a very high level.
