Boxing tournament starts!
The competition at the European Games begins with male and female boxers. The fights will take place in two series – first one starting at 13:00, second at 18:00.
The competition is held in two rings. Today we will see the competition of female fist fighters in the 60kg weight class and male fist fighters in the 57kg, 63.5kg and 71kg weights. In these categories, “passes” to the Paris Olympics (2024) will be won by male and female fighters who reach at least the semifinals stage.
Today’s fights are the 1/16th finals stage. Thus, to get an Olympic pass, everyone must win a minimum of three fights.
Of Poland’s representatives, we will see Yaroslav Ivanov (57 kg) and Bartlomiej Rośkowicz (63.5 kg) today. There will also be women’s boxing stars – Olympic champions Estelle Mossely and Kellie Harrington.
