Table tennis competition starts now!
Table tennis is one of the most popular disciplines of the European Games Kraków-Małopolska 2023. Tickets for the final matches have already been sold out, you can still watch the qualifying matches, which will be played from today at the Hutnik Arena.
During the table tennis competition during the European Games Kraków-Małopolska 2023, five sets of medals will be awarded – in the individual tournaments for men and women and in the mixed game. The last of these competitions will be the classification for the Olympic Games in Paris, which will take place next year.
Poland’s mixed doubles team will be the first to play: Samuel Kulczycki and Katarzyna Węgrzyn – in the 1/8 finals they will face the Hungarian mixed doubles – Nandor Ecseki / Dora Madarasz at 11:30.
The rival of our youngest hope, Miłosz Redzimski, will be the Italian Nigol Stoyanov, known for his performances from the LOTTO Superleague – this match is at 15:00.
The White and Reds will close the day with matches at 19:15, when Katarzyna Węgrzyn will play Sofia-Xuan Zhang of Spain and our most experienced player, Jakub Dyjas, participating in the third European Games will face Denim Kozul from Slovenia.
In addition to the competition in singles and mixed doubles, medals will also be awarded in the team tournament at the third European Games. The opponents of polish players, will be Belgians in the last 16 (if they win the white-and-reds will face Germany in quartets), while Poland’s women’s team will face Austrians. The tournament in Hutnik Arena will take place from June 23 to July 1.
