The swimming pool where the diving competition will be held during IE2023 is now open
The swimming pool on Matuszczak Street in Rzeszów was officially opened on Monday, December 12, after a long wait. It is here that diving competitions will be held during next year’s European Games.
The opening ceremony was attended by Mariusz Zagórski, director of the Department of European Games 2023 at the Ministry of Sport and Tourism, as well as Otylia Jędrzejczak – president of the Polish Swimming Federation, who also emphasized the versatility and modernity of the facility. Swimming pool at Matuszczak Street will host 200 athletes next year during the European Games Krakow-Malopolska 2023, on June 25. The best jumpers will fight for the next seven days for gold medals and qualification for the Olympic Games in Paris.
At the new Rzeszow swimming pool, five towers (1 m, 3 m, 5 m, 7.5 m and 10 m) and two trampolines at 1 m and 3 m are available in the jumping area. The pool basin is 30 m long and 25 m wide and from 1.8 m to 5 m deep. A gym and a “dry” pool await athletes, as well as a sauna, a physiotherapy room and a conference room, an ideal place for sports camps and workshops.
