Friday will determine semi-finalists in beach soccer tournaments
The women’s and men’s beach soccer tournaments at the 3rd European Games Krakow-Malopolska 2023 are entering a decisive phase. On Friday, the finalists of both tournaments will be announced. The Polish women will play in one of the semi-finals.
At 19:00 the hosts will face the Spanish, who won the group B by defeating the Ukrainians 6:4 and the Italians in the penalty shootout 4:2. The Poles, on the other hand, started the tournament with a convincing victory over the Czechs (5:1), only to unluckily lose to the Portuguese 1:2 in the last second of the match on Thursday.
The Portuguese will form the other semi-final pair of the women’s tournament with the Ukrainians.
The Portuguese and Spanish national teams will also play in the semi-finals of the men’s tournament. The former will play against the Swiss, while the latter will face Italy. The Poles, after a victory over Azerbaijan (7:2) and defeats to the Spanish (1:6) and Portuguese (2:6), will play on Friday against Moldova in the competition for places from 5th to 8th.
