Ski jumping: the grand finale of several days of competition
Ahead of us is the last, and the most exciting, ski jumping competition on plastic matting, as a part of the III European Games. This afternoon we will have the men’s individual competition on Zakopane’s Wielka Krokiew.
On the start list of the Polish national team are the best current jumpers, including Piotr Zyla, Dawid Kubacki, and Kamil Stoch. But other national teams participating in the event are also participating in their strongest teams. We had a little preview of what’s to come during Saturday’s women’s competition on the large hill – the best athletes made jumps exceeding 130 meters.
All fans are hoping that today will be similar and a real spectacle awaits us. At 4:30 pm the trial series will start at 5:30 pm the first competition series, and right after that the final series. After the medal ceremony, a press conference with all the winners of today’s competition will be held.
The Wielka Krokiew is Poland’s most famous ski jumping hill, and it has been witnessing many successes for nearly 100 years. It has been extensively modernized several times. It regularly hosts winter ski jumping World Cup competitions attracting thousands of fans.
