Nika Kriznar from Slovenia is the winner of the individual competition at Zakopane’s Wielka Krokiew. Today, during the III European Games, the competition in ski jumping on plastic matting “igelite” was held – the ladies’ competition on the large jumping hill.

Slovenian Nika Kriznar turned out to be unrivaled, with a phenomenal jump of 137.5 meters in the first round, thus setting a women’s record on the Wielka Krokiew. The gold medalist didn’t let up in the second round either, reaching 132 meters which gave her a total of 277.4 points. Second place went to her compatriot Nika Prevc, and the bronze medal was won by Germany’s Alma Selina Freitag. Just behind the podium in fourth place was Jacqueline Seifriedsberger of Austria, a two-time gold medalist at the Third European Games in the individual competition and in the mixed teams on the Średnia Krokiew.

The improvement in the weather meant that, as the athletes themselves emphasized, the conditions for jumping were excellent and equal for all. The Polish women fared a bit worse – the best of them Nicole Konderla took 19th place, and Anna Twardosz 29th. Other Polish representatives did not qualify for the final series, taking the following places: Paulina Cieślar 32, Pola Bełtowska 33 and Wiktoria Przybyła 35.

On the last day of the ski jumping competitions on the plastic, on July 1, the most exciting individual men’s competition on Wielka Krokiew awaits us. It is known for sure that Piotr Zyla, Dawid Kubacki and Kamil Stoch will perform.
