The dance competition in Nowy Sacz has come to an end. Gold medals went to representatives of the Netherlands and France. The game was for double stakes, because the gold medalists will go to Paris next year.
In the Park Strzelecki in Nowy Sącz, emotions reached their zenith. Spectacular dance moves drew real crowds to the amphitheater. The gold medal in the Bgirls category was won by the representative of the Netherlands, seventeen-year-old India Sardjoe, known as bgirl “India.” In the Bboys category, the winner was French “Danny Dann.”
It is not surprising that breaking will be the debuting discipline in Paris, as in the semifinals, two Frenchmen competed for the right to play for European Games gold and the guarantee of Olympic qualification.
The hosts of the event cheered the fans. Before the semifinals, the amphitheater blew away. The fans, as if at a boxing fight, cheered the bboys coming out onto the dance floor. The judges also kept the level. Before the finals, they gave a show of dance skills.
The seventeen-year-old champion won bronze
Silver medals went to Anna Ponomarenko, known to the breaking audience as Bgirl “Stefani” (UKR), and to three-time Redbull BC One world champion Dutch bboy “Menno.”
The bronze medal among women went to the youngest participant in the breaking category, Bgirl “Nicka” Dominika Baniewicz, this is the seventeen-year-old’s fourth start at a professional competition. In 2023 she enjoyed the European championship. In men, “Lil Zoo”, representing Austria, stood on the lowest step,
– I don’t know which competition was more difficult for me. It seems to me that the semifinals were very evenly matched. I regret that I was not in the final. Ahead of me is the battle for Paris. I believe that there I will reach for gold, said Baniewicz.
Igor Wypiór, known as Malopolska’s Bboy “Wigor” lost a fierce battle with Dutchman “Lee” 2:0 and thus did not qualify for the semi-finals of the tournament.
After the competition, the gold medalists received symbolic tickets to Paris.
