In the men’s final that took place immediately after the men’s one, Team France completed the double thanks to Diego FOURBET, who didn’t manage to top the route, but finished with the highest score among the 10 participants.

In an extremely close fight, FOURBET closed with the score of 39, winning France’s second gold of the night.

Second with 38+ and the silver medal around his neck was Italy’s Giorgio TOMATIS, while Austria’s Mathias POSCH completed the podium in third place with 38.

France’s second finalist, Jordi POLES, finished fourth also with 38. Initially awarded with the second position, Yuval SHEMLA of Israel eventually slipped in fifth because of a series of appeals.

Given their identical score in the final round, the rankings of POSCH, POLES, and SHEMLA were determined by their results in the semi-final round.

Two Slovenian athlete followed in sixth and seventh position – Lovro CREP and Milan PRESKAR. Davide Marco COLOMBO of Italy followed in eighth, Jonas UTELLI of Switzerland took ninth, and Nimrod TUSNADY placed last in the final in 10th position.

Sport Climbing competitions at Krakow-Malopolska 2023 will conclude tomorrow with the last two medal events: the men’s Boulder final, starting at 17:00 (UTC+2:00), and the women’s Boulder final, starting at 20:00.

More than that, European Games 2023 are part of the qualification process for the Olympic Games in Paris 2024 in 19 sports. This great celebretion of sports starts with opening ceremony in Krakow on 21st of June. The closing ceremony will take place on July 2nd.
