Modern Pentathlon starts today!
During the III European Games, competition in modern pentathlon will take place at the facilities of the Academy of Physical Education in Krakow. All Athletes will start their first competition on Sunday.
The ladies will be the first to start. They will compete in the women’s qualifications. On the following day, we will see men in the fight for the semi-finals. In the qualification and semi-finals, the modern pentathlon competition takes place without horse riding, so we will be able to follow the rivalry in fencing, swimming and running combined with shooting.
The women’s and men’s semi-finals are scheduled for Tuesday and Wednesday, respectively, while the first medals will be handed out on Thursday – starting with the mixed relays.
Saturday, 1 July, will be the last day for the pentathletes to compete at the Third European Games. This is when the finals will be contested and four sets of medals will be handed out – women individually and as a team, and men individually and as a team.
It is worth recalling that the stakes of the rivalry during the III European Games Krakow-Malopolska 2023 will be not only the medals of the European Games, but also the qualifications for next year’s Olympic Games in Paris – the best eight ladies and the best eight men will win nominations.
