The end of preliminaries in karate. Time for the biggest excitement
The elimination phase of the European Games Krakow – Małopolska 2023 in karate has ended. Now it’s time to compete in the semifinals and finals.
At the Bielsko-Biala Arena, the audience energetically cheered the athletes during the elimination phase. They competed in the kata and kumite competitions.
In women’s kata, the preliminaries were won by Helvetia TAILY (FRA), Georgia Archontia XENOU (GRE), Paola GARCIA LOZANO (ESP), Ana Sofia CARRICO DA CRUZ (POR).
In men’s kata, Ali SOFUOGLU (TUR), Yuki Matteo UJIHARA (SUI), Damian QUINTERO CAPDEVILA (ESP), Mattia BUSATO (ITA) advanced to the next stage.
In the women’s 50 kg kumite, the next phase will see Irene KONTOU (CYP), Erminia PERFETTO (ITA), Serap OZCELIK ARAPOGLU (TUR), Bettina PLANK (AUT).
In women’s 50 kg kumite, the qualifiers were won by Jennifer WARLING (LUX), Anzhelika TERLIUGA (UKR), Tuba YAKAN (TUR), Ivet GORANOVA (BUL).
In the men’s 60 kg kumite, the following athletes will be seen in the next phase: Angelo CRESCENZO (ITA), Eray SAMDAM (TUR), Christos Stefan XENOS (GRE), Nikita FILIPOV (UKR).
On the other hand, in the men’s 67 kg kumite, the preliminaries were won by Dionysios XENOS (GRE), Stefan COMANESCU (ROU), Miłosz SABIECKI (POL), Tural AGHALARZADA (AZE).
Semifinals start at 3:30 pm, and finals at 5:30 pm.
