On Tuesday nearly 200 beach handball players from 10 countries began competing in the 3rd European Games Krakow-Malopolska 2023 at the Beach Arena facilities in Tarnow. There was no shortage of emotions!

It was a great day for everyone who came to the stands of the Beach Arena. A total of 16 matches were played – eight each in the men’s and women’s tournaments. We saw a fascinating competition, passion and true sportmanship.

Each team played two matches on Tuesday. Five of them ended the day with two victories. In the women’s competition, it was Denmark in Group A and Germany and the Netherlands in Group B. In the men’s competition, the Croatians and the Hungarians in Group A were unstoppable.

The hosts, on the other hand, had variable luck. The Polish men’s national team made a successful start to the tournament, beating the Danes 2:1 in the first match, but later lost significantly to the Spaniards 0:2. The women’s national team came close to triumphing in the first match against Norway, but lost in a shoot-out 1:2. In the second game, the Danish team was far superior to the home team and won 2:0.
