The biggest sports event in the history of Poland is just 5 days away. To mark the occasion, the Regional Center for Blood Donation and Haemotherapy in Krakow, in cooperation with the European Games 2023, have announced a joint action that will take place during the upcoming celebration of European sports.

At a press conference held at the Marshal’s Office of the Lesser Poland Voivodeship in Cracow, Beata Mazurek, director of the Regional Center for Blood Donation and Haemotherapy in Cracow, announced the plan of action of the bloodbus, which will visit the arenas of athletes struggles during the European Games.

– The vacation season is approaching, a difficult time for patients requiring blood treatment. We have an opportunity to organize a blood donation campaign on the occasion of the European Games, a sports event that takes place in our region. The bus will stop by the Henryk Reyman Municipal Stadium in Cracow on June 27, by the Wielka Krokiew in Zakopane on June 28, and by the Tauron Arena in Cracow on June 30. All those who can’t make it to our stationary points are welcome to the mobile blood collection point – said director Beata Mazurek.

President of the European Games 2023 company Marcin Nowak noted that the idea of sports is to help.

– The 3rd European Games, the biggest sports event in the history of Poland, will be hosted in Malopolska and beyond in just a few days. During this festival of sports, we will show what is most beautiful in Malopolska and Poland, all the greatest values that we are proud of. One of them is to provide help. I am very happy that we can jointly propose a project during our Games, directed precisely to those who need this blood – said Marcin Nowak.

The 3rd European Games Krakow-Malopolska 2023 will start already on June 21 with the opening ceremony at the Henryk Reyman Municipal Stadium in Krakow and will last until July 2. Poland will be visited by more than 7,000 athletes, who will compete in 29 disciplines.
